Redesigned Electric Harley Davidson by S3 Advanced Engineering

At S3 Advanced Engineering, we believe that the future of mobility lies at the crossroads of tradition and innovation. That belief took shape in one of our most exciting and meaningful projects to date: the redesign of the first electric motorcycle from the legendary American brand Harley Davidson—the LiveWire.
This unique project was commissioned by W&W, a German company based in Würzburg that has spent over four decades specializing in the customization of Harley Davidson motorcycles. Their deep respect for the brand’s heritage and their passion for pushing creative boundaries made them the perfect partner for this venture.
Fusing Legacy with Innovation
The mission was ambitious: to create a motorcycle that felt distinctly Harley, yet embraced the clean, cutting-edge promise of electric mobility. The goal was not to reinvent Harley Davidson, but rather to evolve it—preserving its iconic DNA while integrating modern elements that align with today’s values of sustainability, efficiency, and high-tech design.
At the heart of this transformation was our commitment to additive manufacturing, more commonly known as 3D printing. This technology allowed us to design and produce fully customized components tailored to the original Harley LiveWire chassis. Each part was crafted with precision, ensuring structural integrity and a seamless aesthetic that honors the brand’s classic silhouette.
Designing the Future with 3D Printing
Our approach demonstrates how fabrication technology can revolutionize vehicle design. Additive manufacturing doesn’t just speed up production—it enables creative freedom. We were able to explore bold new forms, lightweight solutions, and durable materials, all while maintaining an efficient workflow.
This flexibility is particularly valuable in the customization industry, where one-size-fits-all doesn’t apply. Every design element on the revamped LiveWire serves a purpose, combining performance, sustainability, and timeless design in perfect harmony.
The Result: A New Icon on the Road
The finished motorcycle is a true statement piece—a fusion of old-school charm and forward-thinking engineering. It carries the unmistakable spirit of Harley Davidson, but with a contemporary twist that speaks to a new generation of riders.
We’re incredibly proud to have played a role in this transformation. More than just a redesign, this project serves as a powerful proof of concept for the potential of 3D printing in the automotive world, especially in the realm of electric vehicles.
